NASHVILLE, TENN. (October 23, 2014) - In August, 19 Recordings' Dove Award-winning artist and Season 11 American Idol finalist Colton Dixon released Anchor, his highly anticipated sophomore album. Making a splash in its first week, Anchor debuted at No. 1 on four charts! This is Dixon's second No. 1 album debut, following in the footsteps of his successful debut LP, A Messenger.

Even prior to Anchor's release date, its first single "More Of You" was being heard on radio stations across the U.S. The single continues to be heard all over and even has kept the No. 1 spot at radio for its third week on the Hot AC/CHR charts. This is Dixon's third chart-topping song in a row at Hot AC and his highest charting song to date for both AC charts.

At press time, "More Of You" continues to climb other charts as well. The single is currently at No. 8 on AC Indicator as well as National Audience charts, and No. 9 at AC Monitored.

Through the rest of October, Dixon will continue his headlining tour in Florida before joining WinterJam, which kicks off Nov. 6 in New Mexico. For the most updated tour dates, visit Dixon's tour page here.

ABOUT ANCHOR AND COLTON DIXON:
For his sophomore effort Anchor, Colton Dixon co-wrote with renowned songwriters and artists such as Trevor McNevan (TFK), Matthew West, TobyMac, Ben Glover, Matt Bronleewe and the album's producers, David Garcia (TobyMac, Mandisa, Newsboys) and Red Decibel (Switchfoot, Kelly Clarkson, Jeremy Camp). To promote the album's release, Dixon went on a New York City media blitz where he interviewed with ABC News, Fox News, US Weekly, Breathecast, Christian Post, J-14, and performed on "Fox & Friends." Dixon was also featured in USA Today, on Fox 411 and in The Hollywood Reporter.

Anchor follows Dixon's 2013 debut, A Messenger, which set the record for biggest first-week sales by a new solo Christian act, becoming the No. 1 selling album of 2013 by a new Christian artist and the No. 9 best selling album of 2013 in the Christian genre overall. Dixon played to more than 300,000 people last year and his current tour schedule through 2014 will place him in front of more than 800,000.

After his appearance on American Idol (Season 11), Dixon had national media exposure and received three Dove Award nominations, winning one for Best Contemporary Rock Album. He was also named a finalist in the recent Ryan Seacrest online Fan-Favorite American Idol Contestant from past seasons - placing 3rd overall. Colton Dixon has also been named the latest Steinway artist, following in the footsteps of legendary artists such as Harry Connick, Jr., Diana Krall and Billy Joel. Additionally, Dixon has an exclusive ice cream flavor named after him. The Boston-based boutique ice cream maker Emack & Bolio's debuted Dixon's unique flavor this past summer.
